NWS LAX Coaches
COACH JOSH COLE

Josh played lacrosse at The Lawrenceville School and Kenyon College. At Lawrenceville he was an all-state performer for two state-championship teams before moving on to Kenyon where he broke the school’s all-time scoring record. A three-time team MVP and all-conference selection, he currently holds five career school records. Josh began his coaching career at The College of Wooster as a full-time assistant and eventually took over as head coach at The University of Iowa. At Iowa he was named Central Collegiate Lacrosse Association Coach of the Year in 2001 and led his teams to consecutive appearances in the league championship tournament finals.
After moving to Illinois, Josh became head coach of the Lake Zurich High School lacrosse program, guiding the team to the state semifinals in his first year. Lake Zurich advanced to at least the state quarterfinals in each of his five years as head coach.
In addition to his role as Staff Coaching Supervisor, Josh is the 2010 Junior Varsity coach for the Wolves Lacrosse Club. Josh lives in Port Barrington and is engaged to Stephanie Boissannas.
COACH JIM BLAZ
Jim has played lacrosse for Northern; Fox Valley and Second City. He has a BS in Occupational Therapy as well as an MS in Exercise & Physical Fitness. He has many certifications which include but are not limited to Strength and Conditioning; Health and Fitness; Weight Lifting and Personal Training. Jim played Rugby for U of I and Lacrosse for Northern Illinois, Lakeshore Lacrosse, Fox Valley Lacrosse, Second City Lacrosse and he has his E-certification for soccer.
In addition to coaching for the NWS LAX programs, Jim has been a coach for the Marian Central high school team for the last two years. Jim has 5 children, Tyler, Riley, Karlie, Connor and Kevin.
COACH BILL LECOS
Bill Lecos played his collegiate lacrosse with the varsity program at Michigan State University. Bill first learned and played lacrosse growing up in Baltimore, MD. Since MSU, he has played with the Lincoln Park Lacrosse Club and is currently assisting coaching with the Prairie Ridge Wolves H.S. JV & Varsity teams.
COACH MIKE GOMOLSKI
Mike Gomolski, our K-2 Boys lacrosse coach lives in Huntley, IL with his wife Colleen and their three kids Anna, Ben, and Lucas.
He spent several years in the Baltimore area as a kid and played lacrosse for two seasons in the 5th and 6th grade. His family moved to Libertyville, IL his sophomore year in high school – several years before Libertyville had a lacrosse program. He attended Illinois State University and played for the club team there. After graduation, he played several seasons with the Lincoln Park Lacrosse Club in the city.
He has coached his own kids in t-ball/baseball and flag football, in addition to coaching the K-2 Boys for NWS Lax during this past 2009/2010 indoor season.
Mike's coaching goal for this spring 2010 – first and foremost – is for the kids to have fun playing and learning lacrosse. I want to give them a good foundation to go on and play at higher levels.
COACH KYLE PEPPICH

Kyle's played high school lacrosse at Schaumburg high school where he was captain junior and senior year. He went to college at Northern Michigan University which is in MCLA division 2. His junior and senior year he won all conference honors at attack and was named captain junior and senior year. His junior year he totaled 42 points in 9 regular season games and his senior year he totaled 36 points in 7 regular season games. In four years he scored 81 goals and 55 assists totaling 136 points.
COACH JEFF RUETSCHE
Jeff played as a defenseman at Glenbrook North High School and at Northern. A USLAX certified instructor, he is the head coach of the McHenry High School Warriors and also teaches various local lacrosse camps for children ages 8 and up. With a degree in history, he works as an editor and a freelance writer. He lives in Crystal Lake, IL.
COACH DANA NIELSEN

Dana has played lacrosse for 8 years. He played middie for three years at Western Illinois University. He served as a chairman for their club lacrosse team for 2 years. In 2007 Dana accepted the position as Head Coach for the Wolves Lacrosse Club. Spring 2009 the Wolves were the NWS LAX league champions. They also took 1st place in the Cary Grove Invitational in both the JV and Varsity divisions.
In 2009 Dana co-coached with Josh Cole the Varsity Knights Elite team and took 2nd place in the Brewtown Showdown in Milwaukee.
Dana is a graduate of Jacobs High School and a 2004 Western Illinois University. Dana majored in Construction Management and works for Town and Country as a Construction Superintendent. Dana lives in Island Lake, Illinois.
COACH MARY YEAGLEY
I've played lacrosse for 7 years. I started at Lacrosse America. I’ve played on the fresh/soph team (1 yr), JV team (1 yr), and varsity team (2 yrs) at BHS. I also play on a travel team called the Mid West Elite (2 years). I've traveled to Indianapolis, Vail, Breckenridge, and St. Louis to play in lacrosse tournaments. I plan on playing in college at UCSB.
